What is Platelet-Rich Plamsa (PRP)?
Although blood is mainly a liquid (called plasma), it also contains red cells, white cells, and platelets. The platelets are vital in the blood clotting process. PRP is plasma with many more platelets than are typically found in blood. The concentration of platelets and as such, the concentration of growth factors can be 5 to 10 times richer than regular blood.
