The Vampire® Breast Lift

The Vampire® Breast Lift uses the same technology as the Vampire facelift to create fuller, perkier cleavage, and restore the appearance of the breasts. It was invented by Dr. Charles Runels.

A Vampire Breast Lift augments your breasts without surgery. We inject platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to improve skin texture and make your breasts appear fuller.

Administering PRP to your breasts helps you achieve a firmer, fuller look for your breasts. It also minimizes the appearance of wrinkles, scars, and stretchmarks & improves blood circulation. Depending on your intended results, the hyaluronic acid filler can be combined with the platelet-rich plasma for an even firmer result.

Why you may need a Vampire® Breast Lift

As women age, there are signs that become apparent in the breast tissue.

These include:

• A change in skin colour due to a reduction in blood flow thus the skin takes on a more grey appearance.
• An increased droopiness in the shape of the breast and a crinkling of skin in the cleavage area, due to loss of fat.
• A reduction in sensation in the areolar area which may multifactorial (breast feeding, post-surgery, aging)
• Nipple inversion

The Procedure

The procedure involves taking the patient’s blood, spinning it down in a centrifuge to separate the blood cells from the platelet-rich plasma (PRP), and injecting this PRP into the breasts. The PRP is usually activated with calcium (chloride or gluconate) prior to injection, leading to the release of growth factors and optimization of the native wound healing environment. The growth factors cause fibroblast stimulation, remodeling, neovascularization, and enlargement and multiplication of adipocytes.

The Vampire® Breast Lift is a minimally invasive procedure with no downtime. It is not suitable for everyone and it certainly is not a replacement for surgical implants. It is perfect however for improving the appearance of breast implants that may have rippled or started to show through the skin, and may even delay or stave off surgical correction. It is also suitable for women who do not want a dramatic increase in cup size, but do want in improvement in the texture, colour and fullness of the cleavage. It is also useful to improve sensation of the nipples, and scarring or irregularities of the breast.

Background

There is a mountain of research supporting the safety and efficacy of PRP in regeneration tissues. The majority of this stems from orthopaedics and wound healing but there is now growing evidence in the benefits of using PRP for cosmetic procedures.

PRP, mixed with fat has been used by doctors to help restore breast tissue for years without any record of serious side effect. This mixture has also been used commonly by breast surgeons for post-operative reconstruction after mastectomy for breast cancer and there has never been any serious side effects associated with the use of PRP.

What is PRP vis a vis Vampire Breast Lift®?

Platelet-rich plasma comes from your blood. PRP contains proteins that promote blood clotting and help with cell growth.

We separate PRP from the rest of your blood in a centrifuge, a machine that spins your blood at high speeds. The centrifuge separates your blood into three components:

Dermal Filler.

For patients who want more immediate results, we add hyaluronic dermal fillers to the breasts to help improve their shape while adding volume.

PDO Threads.

These are an excellent addition to the Vampire Breast Lift for an immediate improvement in lift. They also initiate your body’s collagen and fibrin production. Once inserted, the threads stimulate the production of new tissue in an upright position and we love that they last up to 2 years.

1. Does it hurt?

The short answer is no. As we’re obtaining your PRP, we can apply a potent topical numbing cream to minimize the discomfort of the injections.

2. Why inject platelet-poor plasma?

Since platelet-poor plasma still has cytokines, platelets, growth factors and proteins, we want to use it to aid in new tissue generation.

3. Is there downtime with the Vampire Breast Lift®?

Your breasts will feel swollen and tender for about a week as your body absorbs the growth factors, but wearing a double sports bra will help to keep “the girls” in place so you can resume normal activity.

When we say ‘normal activity,’ we don’t want you jumping on a trampoline, but you can do barre and light exercise. Otherwise, you can return to work and other habitual activities immediately, which is one of the many major benefits of choosing the non-surgical Vampire Breast Lift.

4. When will I see results?

After your PRP has been injected, the growth factors call to your stem cells to begin the process of generating brand new tissue. The body requires a minimum of three months to generate new collagen, tissue, nerve endings, and blood vessels. Results differ for everybody. Some patients see an increase by two cup sizes after one treatment, while others increase by one cup size. Some patients are satisfied with one treatment, while others are treated once a year.

5. Can I get treated with the Vampire Breast Lift if I have implants?

If your implants are under the muscle, you may be a candidate for the Vampire Breast Lift. This is however determined upon your consultation with our Lead Specialist.
